The number on the Tata showroom poster is rarely the number on your final invoice. Advertisements quote the ex-showroom figure. By the time registration, road tax and insurance are added, the cheque you write is usually 10 to 13 percent higher. That is why the Tata Tiago on road price is the figure every buyer should track, and this guide is built around it.
The Tata Tiago is Tata Motors’ entry hatchback, and it received a heavy update on 28 May 2026. The Tata Tiago facelift 2026 launched at an introductory ₹4.69 lakh for petrol and ₹5.79 lakh for CNG. Tata has since revised prices upward. The base petrol now starts at ₹4.77 lakh and the base CNG at ₹5.87 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Below you will find variant-wise, city-wise and fuel-wise numbers, plus a full look at features, mileage and how the car compares with its rivals.

Tata Tiago Price: What You’re Actually Paying For
The Tata Tiago price starts at ₹4.77 lakh for the Smart petrol manual and climbs to ₹8.62 lakh for the Creative CNG AMT, which is the Tata Tiago top model price in the lineup. If you would rather stay with petrol, the Creative Plus AMT is the dearest one at ₹7.91 lakh. Neither number is what you actually hand over, though, because a few more charges get stacked on before delivery.
Take Delhi as an example. The distance between the sticker price and the road price is around ₹54,000 for the base variant and close to ₹1.1 lakh for the CNG AMT at the top. Plenty of first-time buyers plan around the ex-showroom number alone and get caught out at the billing desk.
Fuel and gearbox move the total too. Going CNG costs about ₹1 lakh extra on any trim, while picking the AMT over the manual adds somewhere between ₹53,000 and ₹55,000.
Tata Tiago On-Road Price: How It’s Calculated
The Tata Tiago price on road has three big components: the ex-showroom price, registration (road tax sits inside this) and the first year’s insurance. Anything optional, such as zero-depreciation cover, an extended warranty, accessories or a FASTag, is extra, and some dealers add handling fees as well.
Road tax swings the total the most. Every state has its own slab, so the same variant costs different amounts depending on where you register it. Going by the Delhi figures, the tax comes to roughly 4% of the ex-showroom price on cars below ₹6 lakh and about 7% on cars between ₹6 lakh and ₹10 lakh, along with fixed fees of around ₹4,800.
That slab jump catches people off guard. Compare the Pure petrol manual at ₹5.57 lakh with the Pure AMT at ₹6.10 lakh: on the price list they are ₹53,000 apart, but in Delhi the AMT costs you about ₹75,000 more, because it crosses ₹6 lakh and lands in the higher tax bracket.
Insurance is the other moving part. It rises with the insured declared value, so top variants cost more to insure. For reference, first-year insurance in Delhi is ₹30,309 on the base Smart and ₹44,478 on the Creative CNG AMT.
Tata Tiago Price in India: National Overview
Tata sets ex-showroom prices centrally, so they are the same in every showroom in the country. All the variation you see comes from state taxes and local charges. Here is how the Tata Tiago 2026 range is spread out. The Smart petrol manual is the entry point at ₹4.77 lakh, and the mid petrol manuals (Pure, Pure Plus and Pure Plus A) run from ₹5.57 lakh to ₹6.56 lakh. Petrol AMTs begin at ₹6.10 lakh with the Pure AMT and top out at ₹7.91 lakh with the Creative Plus AMT. On the CNG side, the manuals go from ₹5.87 lakh (Smart CNG) to ₹8.07 lakh (Creative CNG), and the AMTs from ₹7.13 lakh (Pure CNG AMT) to ₹8.62 lakh (Creative CNG AMT). Those launch prices on the Tata Tiago facelift 2026 were short-lived. The Smart petrol debuted at ₹4.69 lakh and is now ₹4.77 lakh, while the Smart CNG went from ₹5.79 lakh to ₹5.87 lakh, so a quote from May or June will look a little lower than today’s list.
Tata Tiago On-Road Price: City-Wise Comparison
The table below shows the estimated on-road range in each city, from the cheapest petrol variant up to the priciest CNG AMT:
| City | On-road price range |
| Delhi | ₹5.31 lakh – ₹9.72 lakh |
| Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Manesar | ₹5.31 lakh – ₹9.75 lakh |
| Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida | ₹5.50 lakh – ₹9.83 lakh |
| Lucknow | ₹5.50 lakh – ₹9.83 lakh |
| Mumbai, Pune | ₹5.62 lakh – ₹9.69 lakh |
| Ahmedabad | ₹5.48 lakh – ₹9.82 lakh |
| Chandigarh | ₹5.55 lakh – ₹9.92 lakh |
| Jaipur | ₹5.58 lakh – ₹9.95 lakh |
| Patna | ₹5.57 lakh – ₹10.02 lakh |
| Chennai | ₹5.68 lakh – ₹10.22 lakh |
| Hyderabad | ₹5.73 lakh – ₹10.30 lakh |
| Bangalore | ₹5.78 lakh – ₹10.42 lakh |
Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai sit at the expensive end, while Delhi and the Haryana towns around it are among the cheapest places to buy the base variant. For the top variant, Mumbai and Pune are marginally cheaper than Delhi. The spread between cities is wider on higher variants because tax is a percentage of a bigger number.
Tata Tiago On-Road Price in Delhi
The Tata Tiago on road price in Delhi starts at ₹5,31,178 for the Smart petrol and tops out at ₹9,71,607 for the Creative CNG AMT. Here is the variant-wise breakdown:
| Variant | Ex-showroom | On-road (Delhi) |
| Smart (petrol MT) | ₹4.77 lakh | ₹5.31 lakh |
| Pure (petrol MT) | ₹5.57 lakh | ₹6.17 lakh |
| Smart CNG | ₹5.87 lakh | ₹6.50 lakh |
| Pure AMT | ₹6.10 lakh | ₹6.93 lakh |
| Pure Plus (petrol MT) | ₹6.10 lakh | ₹6.93 lakh |
| Pure Plus A (petrol MT) | ₹6.56 lakh | ₹7.44 lakh |
| Pure CNG | ₹6.58 lakh | ₹7.46 lakh |
| Pure Plus AMT | ₹6.65 lakh | ₹7.54 lakh |
| Pure Plus CNG | ₹7.10 lakh | ₹8.03 lakh |
| Pure Plus A AMT | ₹7.11 lakh | ₹8.04 lakh |
| Pure CNG AMT | ₹7.13 lakh | ₹8.07 lakh |
| Creative Plus (petrol MT) | ₹7.36 lakh | ₹8.32 lakh |
| Pure Plus A CNG | ₹7.57 lakh | ₹8.55 lakh |
| Creative AMT | ₹7.61 lakh | ₹8.60 lakh |
| Pure Plus CNG AMT | ₹7.65 lakh | ₹8.64 lakh |
| Creative Plus AMT | ₹7.91 lakh | ₹8.93 lakh |
| Creative CNG | ₹8.07 lakh | ₹9.11 lakh |
| Pure Plus A CNG AMT | ₹8.12 lakh | ₹9.16 lakh |
| Creative CNG AMT | ₹8.62 lakh | ₹9.72 lakh |
The Creative petrol manual is listed at ₹7.06 lakh ex-showroom. Its Delhi on-road number is missing from the table because the listings available for it did not agree with each other, so a written dealer quote is the safer route there. For the base Smart, the Delhi maths is simple: ₹23,879 goes to registration and ₹30,309 to insurance on top of the ex-showroom price, which is how the Tata Tiago price on road reaches ₹5.31 lakh. Online prices also leave out any dealer discount, and many dealers run festive offers around Diwali, so ask before you sign.

Tata Tiago CNG On-Road Price
The Tata Tiago CNG on-road price in Delhi begins at ₹6,49,626 for the Smart CNG manual and rises to ₹9,71,607 for the Creative CNG AMT. The iCNG range covers 9 of the 20 variants, and it is offered on every trim except the top Creative Plus.
The CNG premium over the equivalent petrol variant is consistent. Smart to Smart CNG is ₹1.10 lakh, and for Pure, Pure Plus, Pure Plus A and Creative it is almost exactly ₹1 lakh each. In Delhi the Tata Tiago CNG on road price carries an additional insurance and registration premium on top of that, which is why the on-road gap is about ₹1.1 lakh to ₹1.2 lakh.
Whether the premium pays back depends on how much you drive. The running cost works out to roughly ₹7.2 per km on petrol and ₹4.2 per km on CNG, a saving of about ₹3 per km. At around 15,000 km a year, the extra upfront cost is recovered in roughly three years.
The CNG powertrain also has a useful practical edge. The Tiago iCNG is sold with an AMT, starting from the Pure trim, so you can have a CNG automatic. It also starts directly on CNG rather than switching over from petrol. The twin 30-litre tanks (60 litres water capacity, about 8 to 10 kg of gas) sit under the boot floor, so the boot isn’t wiped out the way it is on older single-cylinder setups.
The trade-offs are less power and less boot. The iCNG engine makes about 75.5 PS against 86 PS on petrol, and the CNG boot only fits one cabin-size suitcase plus two small duffel bags. CNG variants also lose the parcel shelf and run 14-inch tyres on every trim, so the 15-inch alloys are petrol-only.
Tata Tiago XT On-Road Price
Many buyers still search for the Tata Tiago XT on road price, because XT was the popular mid-spec trim on the older Tiago. After the May 2026 update, Tata dropped the XE, XM, XT and XZ names. The lineup now uses Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Pure Plus A, Creative and Creative Plus, so there is no new car sold as an XT.
If you are looking for the XT’s place in the range, the Pure Plus and Pure Plus A trims sit in the middle, with a touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity and cruise control. This is a positioning-based comparison, not an official Tata mapping. For the current equivalent price, look at the Pure Plus petrol manual at ₹6.93 lakh in Delhi or the Pure Plus CNG at ₹8.03 lakh.
If you actually want the old XT, a used car is now the only route. Cars from 2024, the XT CNG in particular, are listed in Delhi at about ₹5.25 lakh to ₹5.40 lakh. They cost far less, but they have two airbags instead of six and miss out on everything new in the facelift.
Why the Same Tiago Costs Differently in Every City
Road tax is the main culprit. Slabs differ from state to state, and a few states treat CNG and petrol cars differently. Registration charges, which cover things like smart-card issuance and hypothecation, make a smaller difference. Insurance moves around too, depending on the insurer, the city and the car’s declared value. Third-party cover is fixed by regulation, so the room to save sits in comprehensive cover and add-ons.
Even inside one city, two dealers can send you slightly different totals, thanks to handling fees, accessory bundles and the insurer they prefer to push. Take at least two written quotes before you decide.
Tata Tiago EMI
At a Delhi on-road price of ₹5,31,178, the base Smart works out to an EMI of about ₹10,113 a month if you borrow for 60 months at 9.8% with roughly ₹53,000 down. Shorten the loan to 48 months and the same borrowing comes to around ₹12,082 a month.
For reference, estimated 60-month EMIs at 9.8% with about 10% down:
| Variant | Approx. EMI per month |
| Smart | ₹10,113 |
| Pure | ₹11,744 |
| Smart CNG | ₹12,364 |
| Pure Plus | ₹13,190 |
| Creative Plus (petrol MT) | ₹15,844 |
| Creative Plus AMT | ₹17,004 |
| Creative CNG AMT | ₹18,497 |
Actual rates depend on your bank, credit profile and the tenure you choose. Treat these as planning figures, not offers.

Which Variant Should You Buy?
- Best on a tight budget: Pure at ₹5.57 lakh. It adds the daily-use basics and is the cheapest way into an AMT. Set aside some money for an aftermarket music system.
- Best value for most buyers: Pure Plus or Pure Plus A. You get the touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, ESP and, in the A, automatic climate and rear vents.
- Best all-round pick: Creative, which has the 360-degree camera, bigger screen and LED lights without paying for the very top trim.
- Best for low running costs: the Tata Tiago CNG in Pure Plus A trim at ₹7.57 lakh, or with an AMT at ₹8.12 lakh.
- Fully loaded: Creative Plus AMT at ₹7.91 lakh for petrol, or Creative CNG AMT at ₹8.62 lakh if you want CNG.
One practical point: if you are weighing Pure against Pure Plus, remember the road-tax slab effect described earlier. The real on-road jump is about ₹75,000, not ₹53,000.
Tata Tiago Exterior Design

The Tiago keeps the same basic silhouette as before, but the face is entirely new. It is the biggest visual change in the Tata Tiago new model 2026 update.
Front
- Sharper LED headlamps with eyebrow-style LED DRLs (Creative and above)
- A piano-black strip connecting the headlamps
- A wider gloss-black grille that merges into the fog-lamp area
- A completely redesigned, slimmer bumper
Side
- New 15-inch dual-tone alloys on higher petrol variants, steel wheels on lower ones
- Wheel-arch cladding made from recycled material
- Chrome inserts on the door handles of top variants
- Turn indicators on the mirrors from Pure and auto-fold from Creative
Rear
- Slimmer LED tail lamps connected by a red strip (it is not illuminated)
- Redesigned rear bumper that mirrors the front
- Shark-fin antenna, replacing the old rod type
One caution from the first-drive reviews: there are visible panel gaps near the bonnet, boot lid and rear spoiler. Check the car carefully at delivery.

| Ground clearance | 170 mm (petrol), 168 mm (CNG) |
| Boot space | 242 litres (petrol) |

Tata Tiago Colour Options
The Tata Tiago new model 2026 comes in six colours: Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Pure Grey, Pangong Pulse, Sobo Surge and Varanasi Vibrance. Sobo Surge is not offered on the base Smart, and Varanasi Vibrance is not offered on Smart or Pure. The dual-tone black roof is available only on the top Creative Plus. Check which shades your preferred trim offers before booking.
Interior Tata Tiago: Cabin Design and Quality
Inside, the Tiago looks and feels a segment above where it is priced. The cabin uses a dual-tone black and grey theme that feels airier than the old all-black one. Fabric inserts on the dashboard and door pads give it a richer feel than you would expect in this class. The steering wheel has a matte finish, the plastics are soft-touch in places, and Tata has kept physical buttons and knobs for the climate controls instead of touch panels.

The interior Tata Tiago buyers get is not without flaws. Reviewers noticed a bit of play in the steering wheel, rough edges on plastics under the door armrest and panel gaps around the glovebox. Build quality remains the area where Tata needs to work.
Front seats
- Ample headroom and good under-thigh support
- Footwell is tight, and the wider centre tunnel brushes the driver’s left foot
- 6-way manually adjustable driver seat and tilt-adjustable steering
Rear seats
- Best for two adults; there is no centre headrest and no centre armrest
- A 5’8″ passenger gets enough knee room, but headroom is limited
- Taller passengers will compromise on space on long trips
Storage and charging
- Bottle holders in all four doors, two front cupholders, a cooled glovebox on higher trims
- Two USB Type-C ports up front (one 65W) and a 12V socket
- A rear 65W USB Type-C port on higher variants
- Wireless charger on Creative Plus (it can overheat a phone and pause charging)
Features
- 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on higher variants (8-inch on lower ones)
- A “10-inch” driver display which is really a 5-inch monochrome unit with fixed gauges at the edges
- Four-speaker audio, cruise control, push-button start and automatic climate on higher trims
Boot Space
The boot holds 242 litres in petrol variants. That fits a medium suitcase with limited room left, or four cabin-size trolleys, which is enough for a weekend trip for four. The rear seat folds but does not split 60:40. On CNG variants, the twin 30-litre tanks still leave room for one cabin suitcase and two small bags, but there is no parcel shelf.
Tata Tiago Safety
All variants get six airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and rear parking sensors. From Pure Plus upward you also get ESP, hill-hold control, tyre pressure monitoring and a rear camera. Creative and above add a 360-degree camera with a blind-view monitor that appears when you indicate.
The older Tiago scored 4 stars from Global NCAP in 2020, but that rating applies to the previous model. The new car has not been crash tested yet, so there is no published rating for it. A fresh result will matter, given how much Tata now emphasises safety.

Tata Tiago Engine and Performance
Both fuel options use the same 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder engine, with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
| Petrol | CNG | |
| Power | 86 PS | 75.5 PS |
| Torque | 113 Nm | 96.5 Nm |
| Gearbox | 5MT / 5AMT | 5MT / 5AMT |
City driving: The petrol engine pulls smoothly and overtakes easily at city speeds. The manual has well-defined gates and a light clutch, and the AMT shifts on time with only a small jerk. Paddle shifters are fitted on the AMT. CNG mode feels almost as willing in town.
Highway driving: Petrol is fine for relaxed cruising and can reach triple-digit speeds, but overtakes at higher speeds need planning. The engine gets loud when pushed because of limited insulation. CNG feels slower beyond about 50 to 60 km/h. Rough estimates for 0-100 km/h are around 15 seconds for the petrol manual, 18 seconds for the AMT and over 20 seconds for CNG.
Ride and handling: Ride quality is the Tiago’s strongest dynamic trait. It absorbs bad roads, potholes and speed breakers well and stays stable over expansion joints. It is less happy in fast corners, where it feels less planted.
Tata Tiago Mileage
Tata has not published ARAI-certified numbers for the facelift, so every figure below comes from real-world testing.
| Version | City | Highway |
| Petrol manual | About 15 kmpl | About 19 kmpl |
| Petrol AMT | About 12-14 kmpl | Similar to manual |
| CNG | About 15-17 km/kg | Over 21 km/kg |
Treat Tata Tiago mileage claims on any website carefully until an official figure is released. The Tata Tiago CNG tank holds roughly 10 kg, which gives a city-only range of close to 160 km on gas before it switches to petrol. A full petrol tank of 35 litres gives a much longer overall range.
Tata Tiago Rivals
The car most buyers put next to the Tiago is the Maruti Suzuki Swift, which starts a little higher but covers a similar budget.
| Car | Ex-showroom price range |
| Tiago | ₹4.77 – 8.62 lakh |
| Maruti Suzuki Swift | ₹5.84 – 8.89 lakh |
The Swift is the better car to drive, with a livelier engine and sharper handling. What it cannot match is the way the Tiago packs in features for the money, from a 360-degree camera on higher trims to six airbags on every variant, so the choice comes down to whether you value driving feel or the spec sheet more.
Tata Tiago Review: What Experts Say
The Tiago is a small hatchback that feels like it belongs a segment higher. The new face looks modern, the cabin uses better materials, and the equipment list is long for the price. Six airbags and a 360-degree camera on a car this cheap are real selling points, and the ride is comfortable.
The weak spots are known. Rear space is tight for tall passengers, the three-cylinder engine can feel strained on highways and hills, and quality inconsistencies persist in the cabin. The 8-speaker option from the pre-facelift model is gone, and the four-speaker system is merely adequate. Tata’s after-sales service is another area buyers should check locally before committing.
User reviews are strongly positive, with an average rating of about 4.6 out of 5 from nearly 40 owners at the time of writing. They mention comfort, features and mileage most often. Sales also jumped after the Tata Tiago facelift 2026 reached showrooms, according to Tata’s August 2026 figures. For anyone eyeing the new Tata Tiago 2026 as a first car, the verdict is simple: it is a well-rounded package at a very affordable price.
Practical Tips Before You Buy
- Get a written quote. Ask for the ex-showroom price, registration, insurance and handling charges as separate line items. A verbal on-road price can change at invoicing.
- Check waiting periods. Most Tata Tiago 2026 trims are available within 4 to 6 weeks, but the base Smart can take 10 to 12 weeks. Factor this in if you need the car by a specific date.
- Compare insurance. Dealer-arranged insurance is often costlier than what you can buy yourself.
- Ask about festive offers. With Diwali approaching, dealers may offer cash discounts or exchange bonuses that the online price does not include.
- Test the AMT in traffic. If you are choosing between manual and AMT, drive both on a busy road.
What’s Changing in Tata Tiago Price Going Forward
Prices in this segment rarely stay still. The Tiago has already moved up from its introductory prices once since launch, and further revisions are possible, particularly around the start of the new year. State governments also revise road-tax slabs from time to time, and a change in a slab can shift the on-road number by several thousand rupees. The next-generation Tiago is years away, so the Tata Tiago facelift 2026 should be the version you are buying for the foreseeable future.
